El Bosch GMS 120 es ideal para localizar metales ferrosos, metales no ferrosos, subestructuras de madera y cables conductores en paredes y suelos de diversos tipos. El "modo Drywall" se utiliza para detectar estructuras de madera, el "modo Metal" permite la localización de metales y el "modo Live-wire" se puede utilizar para localizar cables activos. Incluso los objetos profundos se pueden localizar fácilmente hasta una profundidad de 12 cm y gracias a la escala "Center Finder" se puede determinar el centro del objeto con precisión milimétrica.
